Dorothy Lee Gallaher Knight

Dorothy Lee Gallaher Knight age 91, of 418 Washington Street Quincy, formerly of Liberty died on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 11:15 p.m. in the home. Dorothy was born December 28, 1921 in Clayton, IL a daughter of Casper and Elma (Schultz) Goertz. She first married Almon Gallaher in August of 1942 and he preceded her in death December 16, 1982. In 2000, Dorothy married Glenn Knight and he preceded her in death in 2004.

Dorothy was the owner of Dorothy’s Beauty Shop in the Liberty area for many years.
She was a graduate of Dallas City High School and graduated from Beauty School in St. Louis, MO.
She was a member of Liberty Christian Church.

Dorothy studied and practiced Reflexology, she always had an interest in natural health arts.
Dorothy liked to go fishing, she loved the challenge of catching a big carp. She also baked many special treats for her grandchildren to enjoy.

Survivors include her four children, Donna (David) Eager; Wayne (Henrietta) Gallaher all of Quincy; Eldon (Debra) Gallaher of Liberty and Harold “Lee” Gallaher of Seattle, WA;
step-children, Rosie (Mark) Knight; Barb (Rich) Schmidt all of Quincy; Andy Knight of Plainville, IL and Susie (Carol) Knight of Quincy.
A sister, Junetta Goertz of Rockford, IL; Six grandchildren, Michael and Dan Eager of Quincy; Andy and Lacey Gallaher of Quincy; Carla (Travis) Zanger of Liberty and Amanda (Paul) Fessler of Quincy; Great-Grandchildren, Michael, Lindsey, Katie and Kelly Eager of Memphis, TN; Alex, Zachary and Zoey Eager of Quincy; Wyatt Tenhouse, Makenna and Preslea Zanger of Liberty; Noelan Moore, Whitney Parkhill, Gavin and Aubrey Fessler all of Quincy; step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, two brothers, two sisters, a daughter, Shirley Gallaher, and a step-daughter-in-law, Ester Knight.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Terry Henry. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery near Liberty. Visitation is Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh. Memorials are suggested to Pleasant View Cemetery. www.dukerandhaugh.com
