Dorothy E. Glisan, age 93, of Good Samaritan Home, Quincy, died on Saturday, January 12, 2013 in the Home. She was born on July 22, 1919 in Quincy, a daughter of Anselm & Clara (Bockhold) Blickhan. She married Fred E. Glisan on November 10, 1945 in St. Francis Catholic Church by the Rev. Thomas Rust OFM. He preceded her in death on March 5, 1992.

Dorothy worked as a CNA at the Illinois Veterans Home, she later worked there as a shopper.

She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and the Ladies of St. Francis. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by a daughter Renee J. Dillingham and her husband Michael of Las Vegas, NV; a grandson Alex J. Zerkle of Las Vegas; two brothers, Paul (Rita) Blickhan & John (Barb) Blickhan, all of Mendon, IL; and two sisters, Virginia (Paul) Schuering of Quincy and Bernice (Donald) Dittmer of rural Coatsburg, IL. Many nieces & nephews also survive.

In addition to her husband, Fred, and her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Clarence & Tom Blickhan and Joseph Blickhan; and two sisters, Rita Blickhan and Emma Brueggman.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 12:00 noon in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held at St. Francis Church beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at noon. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Church. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
