Doris J. “Sissy” Schlueter

Doris J. “Sissy” Schlueter age 57, of Quincy died on Friday, June 30, 2023 in Blessing Hospital.
Sissy was born in Quincy on December 17, 1965 a daughter of Glen E. Vaughn and Doris (Harris) Vaughn Payne. She married Tony L. Schlueter on March 12, 1990 in Quincy, and he survives.

Sissy had worked for many years as a home health care aide and was a photographer at the former Sears Photography Center.
She had attended The Crossing in Quincy. Sissy always wanted to help others through her work and as a foster parent.
She liked to go camping and enjoyed crafts and sewing.

In addition to her husband Tony, her survivors include her stepfather James T. Payne of Quincy.
Her brothers and sisters, Glen (Sara) Vaughn; Betty (Rob) Weiske; Blaine (Anita) Vaughn and Laura Vaughn all of Quincy. Stepsiblings Wendy and Donald of Quincy and Melissa of Michigan. Nieces and nephews: Gene Vaughn, Jr., Misty Haynes, Jeffery Vaughn, Ashley Vaughn, Kayla Goodall, Robert Goodall, Brittany Vaughn, Gene Vaughn, and Kendra Goodall
The children she fostered, Logan and Aaron Vaughn. Many Great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Gene Vaughn, Sr. and her parents-in-law, Del Ray Schlueter and Ellen Regenos.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2023, at Sunset Cemetery at the Illinois Veteran’s Home. There is no visitation, but family and friends are invited to the graveside service. Service arrangements are with Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and messages may be shared with the family at www.dukerandhaugh.com

    She was such a sweetheart my sons Noah and Brandon thought the world of her when they were little she will be so missed RIP my condolences to the family

    Aunt sissy u were a hell of a fighter! U r gonna b greatly missed! U were a beautiful woman inside and out! I love u! And plz plz tell my momma I said I love her and miss her so much!!
