Doreetha Ruth Elliott

Doreetha Ruth Elliott, age 90, of Timber Point Healthcare Center, Camp Point, IL, formerly of Liberty, died on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 in the home. She was born on February 12, 1925 on a farm in Golden, IL, a daughter of Rudolph & Effie (Mueller) Taute. She was a 1943 graduate of Payson Seymour High School. She married Harold W. Elliott on June 12, 1951. He preceded her in death on December 26, 1993.

Doreetha devoted most of her life to being a farm wife in Burton Township, IL. After retiring from the farm, she enjoyed helping out at Elliott Publishing office doing odd jobs and acting as a courier. She loved to garden and crochet.

She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Quincy.

She is survived by:
ONE SON, James “Jim” Elliott and his wife Marcia of Liberty, IL;
TWO GRANDDAUGHTER, Donna (Frank) Tournear of Vermont, IL and Dianna Elliott of Liberty, IL;
FIVE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN, Christopher, Shannon & Kory Tournear, all of Vermont, IL, Candace Tournear of Quincy, IL and Shavell Tournear of Plymouth, IL;
SIX GREAT-GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN,
ONE BROTHER, Art Taute of Quincy;
Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her husband, Harold, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Rudolph “Hank” Taute, Marvin Taute, LeRoy Taute and Frederick “Fritz” Taute; and one sister, Elnora Taute.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
