Dora Mae Scott Cheney, age 79, of 639 York, died on Monday, January 19, 2015 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on December 30, 1935 in Carthage, IL, the daughter of Fred & Gloria Scott. She married Bernard Max Cheney on October 9, 1955 in Carthage. He preceded her in death.

Dora was of the Christian Faith. She enjoyed volunteering at the Quincy Senior Center.

She is survived by:
FOUR CHILDREN: Tom Cheney and his wife Debra of Quincy; Danny Cheney and his partner Cliff Blanchard of St. Petersburg, FL; Ronnie Cheney and his wife Theresa of Durham, MO; and Donna Mae Utterback and her husband Franklin of Moberly, MO
ONE BROTHER: James Arthur Scott of Quincy
Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 grandchildren and two brothers: Robert Scott and Leroy Scott.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 12:00 noon at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be at 2:30 PM on Wednesday at the Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage, IL. Visitation will be held at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11:00 until the time of the services at noon. Memorials may be made to the VFW of Quincy.
