Donna Marie Frese

Donna Marie Frese age 58, of Liberty, Il passed-away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 in Golden Good Shepherd Home in Golden, IL. She was the daughter of Kenneth and Doris (Kill) Murfin of Payson, IL born on June 18, 1963. Donna married Brian Thomas Frese on October 8, 1988 at the United Methodist Church in Payson, and they had three children.

Donna was a 1981 graduate of Payson Seymour High School. She was the class Salutatorian, and throughout her school years was selected for class and band officer positions, including the Society for Academic Achievement, National Honor Society and Student of the Month. Donna was involved in concert, pep and color guard/drum majorette in marching band. She was cheerleader for two years, and a member of the Student Action for Education, and Homemakers of Tomorrow clubs. For eight years she was active in the Payson Progressors 4-H clubs and enjoyed playing softball.

After graduation, Donna was employed at Town and Country Bank in Payson. In 2003, she accepted a branch manager position at the State Street Bank, Payson branch, a position she held until 2014 when she resigned due to health reasons. People remember her constant smile, friendly personality, and dedication to serving the Payson community with their banking needs for 30 years. Donna was a life-long member of Richfield United Methodist Church where she served as Sunday School superintendent and teacher, as church board officer, with Kings Kids Choir, and helped with Bible School and the annual Old Folks Day and rummage sale. She performed with the Richfield Kitchen Band, and often sang in musical specials for Sunday services and other occasions.

Donna loved being with family and was an avid Houston Oilers and Astros fan. She enjoyed playing Bingo and Pinochle and liked to bake and cross-stitch. For eight years, Donna endured multiple health concerns, and throughout all of them, her faith and courage was resilient. Since 2020, she had been a resident at Golden Good Shepherd Home. Her family thanks them, the hospital, her many doctors, nurses and caregivers and the community for their generous and loving support.

Surviving is her husband Brian, two children, Amanda (Cory) Jones of Ewing, MO; and Aden Frese of Liberty. Two siblings, Jim (Susan) Murfin of Liberty, and Jayne (Greg) Clampitt of Port Byron, IL; two grandchildren, Gentry and Ridge Jones. Her father-in-law, Tom Frese of Quincy; two sisters-in-law, Lynn (Greg) Barlow of Elm Grove, WI; and Michelle (Brett) Stadler of Brighton, MI.

Nieces and nephews, Hillary Marks, Wade (Kari), Isaac and Brooklyn Murfin; Garrett, Jeannett and Jannell Clampitt; Linzi (Matt) Wontorcik; Devin (Frances) Reed; Alex Reed, Tyler, Kendall and Sam Barlow, Sarah, Tommy, Emily, and David Stadler.

She is preceded in death by her son, Austin Frese; her parents, Kenneth and Doris Murfin. Grandparents, Ralph and Margie (Amos) Murfin and Carl and Vera (Cochran) Kill. Her mother-in-law, Beverly (Spath) Frese and a sister-in-law, Jody Frese.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. Lois Sorrill. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, IL. Family and friends are invited to visitation Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh. Memorials are suggested to Golden Good Shepherd Home.

    Brian, Amanda & family, Aiden – So sorry for your loss. Take comfort in knowing that she is in God’s loving care. We always enjoyed visiting with her at the bank.
