Donna L. Bower

Donna L. Bower, age 76, of Quincy, died on Thursday, January 4, 2018 in her home. She was born on August 29, 1941, in Quincy, the daughter of Gerry J. and Bertha M. (Schmelzle) Belker. She married John (Jack) A. Bower on April 20, 1963 in St. John’s Catholic Church in Quincy. He survives.

Donna graduated from Notre Dame High School. She was employed at Bank of America as a bank teller, retiring in 2003.

Donna was a member of the Ladies of St. Francis, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Women’s City Club and Western Catholic Union. Donna was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She especially cherished visits from her grandchildren Kayla and Dylan Bower of Denison, TX. Donna immensely enjoyed playing cards at card parties and Bridge at the Women’s City Club. She loved to travel to the Caribbean Islands, Hawaii and into Mexico while living in Yuma, AZ.

In addition to her husband, Jack, she is survived by her children; Michael J. Bower of Chouteau, OK; William J. Bower of Durant, OK; and Jeffrey A. Bower of St. Joseph, MO; ; two grandchildren, Kayla Bower and Dylan J. Bower of Denison, TX. a sister, Dorothy Reinebach of Quincy; a sister-in-law, Georgian Belker of Quincy; many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerry and Bertha Belker; two brothers, Clarence (Bud) Belker and her twin brother, Ronald Belker; one sister, Mildred Binkley.

FUNERAL SERVICES will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
at St. Francis Catholic Church by Monsignor Michael Kuse.
INTERMENT in Calvary Cemetery.
VISITATION will be held on Tuesday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and Wednesday morning from 10:30 -11:00 a.m. at the church.
MEMORIALS may be made to St. Francis Catholic Church or Quincy Notre Dame.
The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    My Sincere Sympathy Jack and Family upon the loss of a wonderful Wife & Mother. I just lost my Sweet Husband Chuck June, 2017 , so, I know your pain & loss.
