Donna C. Gail
Donna C. Gail, age 67, of Quincy, died on Monday, February 18, 2019 in Columbia, Missouri. She was born on December 5, 1951 in Quincy the daughter of R. Wallace and Christine (Conley) Gail.
Donna was a nurse practitioner with the East Adams County Rural Health Clinic, retiring on December 30, 2016 with 20 years of service. Donna served patients at Golden Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Timber Point Health Care, Camp Point, IL and Hancock County Shelter Care, in Augusta, IL for many years. She attended Barnes Hospital School of Nursing. She has a bachelor of science in nursing degree and a master of science in nursing degree, both from St. Louis University. She also has a post-master’s certificate as an adult nurse practitioner from Barnes College at University of Missouri in St. Louis. She was employed at Barnes Hospital from 1971 – 1995. She is a member of the American Nurses Credentialing Commission, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Illinois Society for Advanced Practice Nurses, Sigma Theta TauNu Chi and Pi Pi chapters and Brain Trauma Awareness Organization.
Donna was certified in Agra Health Medicine and educated the community on safe ag and farm practices. She was very dedicated to All of her many patients and to the clinic and always filled in for others without complaint. She came in early and stayed late and did so without hesitation. Donna’s patients loved her and confided in her and she respected them all individually.
Donna was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish where she served on the finance committee for 13 years. She served as a Eucharistic minister and was devoted to the rosary. She loved to read and enjoyed her dachshund Greta Mae.

Her mother: Christine Gail with whom she shared her home.
Her sister: Susan Chambers and her husband Chuck of Palmyra.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 9:15 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church or to the Brain Trauma Awareness Organization. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
I just loved her she was a awesome lady and she always took great care of me and my family rip donna you will be missed.
I’m so sorry for your loss Donna was my Doctor ever since she started working at East Adams Clinic I would Drive from Quincy to see her she always would find what was wrong or send you to someone who could I sure have missed her since she retired Heaven gained another Angel She was so much more to everyone but a Doc I’m so sorry for her Mother sending Prayer’s

I am so saddened by this news. Donna was one of the absolute best! Loved her! She will be sadly missed… my sincere condolences to her family .
All sentiments already expressed are among those that I assembled, too. Going to see Donna for medical care was more like going to see a caring member of the family. I loved her laugh! Such an uplifting woman and friend. My sympathy to her family as many share your loss.
She was such a nice lady, my family all seen her, then my kids were seen by her. She was a great dr and a great lady. So sorry for your loss she will be missed

Donna was a valuable volunteer and board member with the Brain Trauma Awareness Organization. Her willingness to serve as a co-facilitator of our networking group and valuable listening and advocacy skills were greatly appreciated by our persons with brain injury.
Her passion for prevention was focused on concussion awareness and especially fall prevention with the elderly. She joined me with many creative seminars to bring Mindfulness Matters and Move Mindfully message to those to prevent falls. We will sorely miss her spirit and presence! Dr. Margie Williams PhD, RN

Donna is definitely going to be missed. She was so kind & caring. She felt more like family. She took care of my mom, daughters, grandkids & myself. At times it was more like a family reunion, then going to the Dr. She knew all if us personally & if you’d see her outside the office, she’d talk to us like we were all family. We were upset when she told us that she was retiring. It felt like a close family member that was moving far away & you knew you wouldn’t see her anymore. Our prayers go out to her Momma & family. We all loved her too. Heaven most definitely got another Angel. May God bless you all & help you through the sorrow of losing your loved one.
