Donald Lee “Donnie” Emery

Donald Lee “Donnie” Emery, age 79, of Quincy, died on Saturday, January 7, 2023 in the Sunset Home. He was born on May 11, 1943 in Quincy the son of Thomas and Gladys (Littleton) Emery. He married Beverly Bunfill on June 5, 1965 in LaGrange, MO. She survives.

Donnie was a forklift driver for JM Huber for 28 years, retiring in 1999.

Donnie enjoyed fishing but most of all spending time with the children and grandchildren. Donnie liked boating and the time he and Beverly lived in Branson, MO. He also loved his constant canine companion, ‘Mikey’.

In addition to his wife, Donnie is also survived by:
TWO DAUGHTERS: Janet Reno (Mark) of Quincy and Dena Ohnemus (Brien) of Ursa.
SEVEN GRANDCHILDREN: Nathan Peters (Jennifer), Natasha Reno, Kaley Reno, Abby Reno; Alisha Smith (Phillip), Bridgette Paul (Tyler), and Grant Ohnemus.
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Caiden Peters; Avett Newton and Millie Newton; Zoey Reno-Davis, Boston Reno, Jordley Delonjay, and Bronson Delonjay; Bentley Smith and Landon Smith, with an additional great grandchild Baby Paul on the way.
SIBLINGS: Donnie’s twin brother Ronnie Emery (Debbie) and Jim Emery (Beverly Jean).
Along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Donnie was preceded in death parents, siblings: Clifford, Forrest ‘Dale’, Kenny, Marion and Bob emery and a sister Betty Berhorst.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Greenmount Cemetery. There is no visitation, but friends are invited to the graveside services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help with the medical expenses for ‘Baby Paul’. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    I am so sorry to hear about Don . I remember going over there as a teenager and he was always smiling and joking around! He will be missed!

    Aunt Bev. We were sad to hear Uncle Don passed. Have a lot of fond memories when we all lived around the circle from each other. Our prayers are with you and your family. On all the important days, and on the regular ones too, he will always be missed. Love you
