Donald L. Nutt

Donald L. Nutt, age 86, of Quincy died on Friday, September 14, 2018 in his home. He was born in Quincy on January 31, 1932, a son of William and Blanche (Bolt) Nutt.
He married Mary H. Bockhaus on May 1, 1952 and at the time of her passing on August 13, 2016 they had been married 64 years.
Donald worked at Middendorf’s and went on to work at Firestone for 30 years prior to retiring. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Donald was of the Methodist faith.
He had been a member of the V.F.W. and AmVets. He liked to go deer and turkey hunting. Donald also was a skilled carpenter, cabinetmaker and woodworker.
Survivors include his two daughters, Linda Barker and Brenda Nutt; two grandchildren, Jason McEntee and Adam Schreacke and wife, Nikia.
4 Great-Grandchildren, Sophie McEntee, Maddie McEntee, Lance and Chloe Schreacke; a brother Edward “Eddie” Nutt and a sister, Marilyn Klingele; and his close companion, Mardette Murphy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, William and Maxson Nutt and his grandson, Johnathan Schreacke.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. in New Loraine Cemetery with military honors. A private visitation is planned. Memorials are suggested to Unity Point Hospice.
