Donald L. Doellman
Donald L. Doellman, age 84, of 1024 North 7th, died on Friday, April 6, 2012 at 10:25 PM in Blessing Hospital. He was born on January 6, 1928 in Quincy the son of Edward H. & Mary E. (Winking) Doellman. He married Sandra Frese on October 20, 1978 in Quincy. She survives. Don owned and operated the Silver Moon Tavern for over 40 years, after having worked for and bought the business from his uncle, John Winking. Don was a Navy Veteran of WWII. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Don was a member of the American Legion. He was a die hard Cub fan. Don was also an avid reader, loved music and the history channel and was himself a master storyteller.

THREE CHILDREN: Thomas Doellman and his wife Sue of Quincy; Karen Baker and her husband Rick of Dixon, CA; Ken Doellman and his wife Mary of Quincy.
ONE DAUGHTER IN LAW: Mary Ann Doellman of Quincy.
ELEVEN GRANDCHILDREN: Kendra Doellman-Best; Tommy Doellman, Arista Bauerly and her husband Jason; Steve Hamann, Jennifer Alexander, Kari Baker, Matthew Doellman and his fiancee Mary Ann Straub, Kevin Doellman, Brian Doellman, Amanda Heck and Adam Doellman and his wife Kristy.
FOURTEEN GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Lainie Best, Brayden Bauerly, Jayden Bauerly and Maggie Bauerly, Sydney Hamann, Mia Hamann, Brody Hamann and Christian Hamann, Logan Alexander, Allyson Heck, Juliann Heck, Nicholas Doellman, Zane Doellman and Zara Doellman.
ONE BROTHER: Earl Doellman
ONE SISTER: Dorothy Bange
Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives along with SPECIAL FAMILY MEMBERS: Kathy Gunlock and her son Braxton Beswick also survive.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, one son Donald Doellman, a great-grandson Adam Doellman in infancy; Brothers: Robert, Ed and Ralph Doellman and sisters: Margaret Doellman and Helen Gronewald.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 10:30 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 11:00 AM in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery with military rites at the cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home with a prayer service at 6:30. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Hospital ICU, Quincy Notre Dame, or to the Humane Society.
