Donald Eugene Garner, age 90, of Quincy, died on Thursday, April 15, 2021 in his home. He was born on August 20, 1930 in Palmyra, MO the son of William Henry and Lula Ann (Goens) Garner. He married Grace Arzellia Sanders on March 22, 1974 in Quincy. She survives.

Don was a graduate of Hannibal High School and had attended Gem City College. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1953-54 during the Korean War.

He opened Modern Printing in 1957 which he operated until he sold the business on August 14, 2000. He was a self-taught printer, and it truly was one of his passions. Don planned vacation destinations that included attending graphic art and print shows to further advance his skills.

His other passions were old cars, music, spending time with this family and enjoyed having breakfast and lunch with his friends.

In addition to his wife Grace, he is survived by his children: Frank (Brenda) Garner, Linda Garner (John) Strieker and LouAnn (James) Smith all of Quincy.
Grandchildren: Matthew Garner (Lisa Hert), Nicci Garner and Jamie (Molly) Terstegge, and step-grandsons: Sean Meadows and Rob (Christine) Strieker.

Great grandchildren: Kailey Garner, Jaydon Garner, Gavin and Mason Terstegge and Cecelia Garner. A step-great grandson: Vincent Meadows; his first wife, Nancy Belle Harbourn of Quincy; nieces and nephews and other relatives also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, four sisters and his step-son, Michael Shannon.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Koduru and his staff, and the Blessing Hospice team for their excellent care.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later-date. Private family services were held with interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Military honors were conducted by American Legion Post #37 and the U.S. National Guard Honors Detail.
