Donald ‘Chuck’ Werner

Donald Charles ‘Chuck’ Werner, age 66, of Quincy, died on Thursday, March 16, 2023 in his home. He was born on February 12, 1957 in Quincy, IL. He married Debra Triplett on June 27, 1981. She survives.

Chuck was a paramedic in the Adams and Brown County area. In his younger days, he loved fishing and hunting. In later years, he just loved socializing. Hanging with his best “peeps” playing cards and playing bingo. He loved singing, even though he was mostly off key… praise and worship songs and the oldies from the 70’s. He was a member of the River of Life Family Church. He loved his church family and was active in the church.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by:
SON: Jared Werner (Megan) of Hopkinsville, KY
GRANDCHILDREN: Oakley and Mason Werner
SIBLINGS INCLUDING: Kitty Altgilbers (Ron), Nancy Hall (Chuck), Carol Eggly, and Rich Wagner (Amy).
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Donald M. Werner, his mother Marilyn Woltering Wagner, a son Joshua Werner and a grandchild Blake in infancy.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Chuck’s life will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the River of Life Family Church, 2901 Payson Road, Quincy. Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, March 25 at the church from 12:30 until the time of the services at 1:00 PM.

Private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Quincy Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
