Donald C. Chapel

Donald C. Chapel, age 60, of Quincy, died on Thursday, December 11, 2014 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on November 7, 1954 in Fairview Park, OH, the son of Donald and Mary Catherine (Veltrie) Chapel. He was a graduate of Elyria High School. He attended Kent State University where he played baseball, hockey and rugby. He first married Dottie Bellman. He later married Mary Bohan Hufford. Don had previously worked for Motorola. He then was an automotive salesman for many years. He worked at Shottenkirk Kia for many years and had worked for Dene Lambkin Honda. He was a member of the Church of St. Peter. Don enjoyed watching his children’s sporting events. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Don was also an avid fan of ‘The Ohio State’.

He is survived by:
SIX CHILDREN: Lacy Chapel; Jessica Hufford, Justina Dial and her husband Brian; Janine Chapel, Jordan Chapel and Joseph Chapel.
ONE GRANDCHILD: Adelyn Dial
TWO BROTHERS: Clifford Moore and his wife Sandy, and Conry Chapel.
ONE SISTER: Debbie Chapel
Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Allison Victoria Chapel in infancy and a sister Christy Ann Mick.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 15, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been set up at First Bankers Trust to benefit the Donald C. Chapel Memorial Fund.
