Donald Bernard Eberle

Donald Bernard Eberle, age 80, of 1318 Spruce St., Quincy, died on Friday, December 14, 2012 in Sunset Home. He was born on March 12, 1932 in Adams County, IL, a son of Bernard & Coletta (Hummert) Eberle.

Donald attended St. John the Baptist Catholic School and graduated in the class of 1950 from Notre Dame High School. He was a former member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where he was a member of the “Over-the-Hill” Gang.
Don was currently a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 – 1954 during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Quincy Speaker and Meco-Lectro, retiring after 30 years in 1997.

Survivors include: a sister, Rita Eberle of Quincy; a brother-in-law, Charles Bross of Palmyra, MO; nephews Greg J. (Kristy) Bross, Dan M. Bross, and great-nephews, J.C. Bross and Christopher & Dalton Janes all of Palmyra.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patricia Bross.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church by Msgr. Michael Kuse. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
