“Dickie” Violet Viola Yeakey, age 76, of St. Vincent’s Home, formerly of 704 Payson Avenue, died on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in the Home. She was born on July 5, 1935 in Quincy, IL the daughter of Everette & Violet Viola (Bryant) Lowry. She married Junior Dell Yeakey on February 6, 1951 in Palmyra, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 30, 2009. For many years, she owned and operated “Dickie’s Janitorial Service”.

She is survived by:
THREE CHILDREN: James Paul Yeakey and his wife Laura of Quincy, Illinois
Vickie Lightle and her husband Randy of Springfield, MO &
Donna Clifford of Ft. Madison, IA.
A DAUGHTER IN LAW: Patty Yeakey of Quincy.
Numerous other relatives including grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren also survive.

In addition to her husband, Dickie was also preceded in death by her parents, a son Junior Dell Yeakey, Jr and all of her brothers.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. George Tomko. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM until the time of the services. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent Home. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
