Diane Jean Utterback

Diane Jean Utterback, age 67, of Quincy and Liberty, formerly of Syracuse, NY, died on December 2, 2019 in the Good Samaritan Home. She was born on October 4, 1952 in Syracuse, NY the daughter of William ‘Bill’ and Matilda (Dietz) Craigie. She married Albert ‘Leo’ Utterback on April 5, 1975 in Melrose Chapel in Quincy. He survives. Diane was a secretary for Pam Printers until 1998 and then worked at Chaddock from 1998 until her retirement. She was a member of both the Payson United Methodist Church and the Richfield United Methodist Church.

Diane enjoyed gardening, flowers, decorating for holidays, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren. Diane loved animals, especially dogs. She was a very involved member of the Rock Steady Parkinson’s Class at the YMCA.

The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the ICU staff, Dr. Adam Reyburn, and the Good Samaritan Home Rehabilitation Unit for the wonderful care given to Diane over the last five years.

In addition to her husband Leo, she is also survived by:
THREE CHILDREN: Scott (Jennifer) Utterback of Quincy; Deanne (Oscar Maradiaga) Utterback and Alberta L. Utterback.
GRANDCHILDREN: Brooklyn and Blake Utterback; Xaver and Caylee Maradiaga and William Utterback.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, an aunt Alma Dietz and a step-son: Albert Leo Utterback, Jr.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the Payson United Methodist Church. Interment in Franks Cemetery near Richfield. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Payson United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the Quincy Humane Society or to the YMCA for the Rock Steady Parkinson’s Class.

    I’m so very sorry for your loss. Diane will be missed by so many. I loved working with her at Chaddock and hearing stories about her husband, children and dogs. Diane had a wonderful laugh and I’ve missed it for many years!

    You will be greatly missed. You were kind to me and Megan and I’ll always remember Christmas at your house. I’m sure John will also miss his Xmas treats you always made special for him. RIP love to Leo and the family.

    Just knowing you were from NY put a smile on my face and why I didn’t know this. I was going to say I’m sorry however I will rejoice because you are with our Heavenly Father no more pain no more suffering. I am honored that I had the opportunity to know and be your friend you will be missed❤️

    My heart goes out to the family. Diane was such a sweet lady. A woman of God.. She would help anyone who needed it.
