Denise Ellen Duesterhaus, age 57, of 1306 North 8th Street, Quincy, died on Sunday, January 16, 2011 in her home. She was born on October 14, 1953 in Quincy, Illinois, a daughter of Raymond Lee & Maxine Elizabeth (Ellis) Courtois. She married Donald Mark Duesterhaus in Hannibal, Missouri. He survives.

Denise worked for fourteen years as a self-employed daycare provider. She loved the children she surrounded herself with every day.

In addition to her husband, survivors include:
HER MOTHER: Maxine Courtois of Quincy;
THREE CHILDREN: Spencer Keith Garcia , Lisa Dawn Garcia, & Lacy Rae Duesterhaus all of Quincy;
TWO BROTHERS: Jeffrey Lee Courtois of Quincy, and Rodney Arlie Courtois of Summerville, S.C.;
ONE SISTER: Charlotte Tournear of Ewing, MO;
FIVE GRANDCHILDREN

Denise was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Lee Courtois, a brother, Raymond Cecil Courtois, and a grandson, Spencer Keith Garcia, Jr.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. in New Providence Cemetery, Ursa, Illinois by Rev. Tom Waters. There is no visitation but family & friends are invited to the graveside services. Memorials are suggested to Blessing Foundation for HOSPICE. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
