Delores Dodd

Delores Lucille Toolate Dodd, age 88, of North Adams Home, died March 28, 2017 in the Home. She was born on June 6, 1928 in Unionville, MO, the daughter of Earl D. Knowles and Pebble C. Miller. She married William G. Dodd in Meredosia. He preceded her in death in 1995.

Delores was a waitress and cook for many years in this area. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family. Delores never met a stranger.

She is survived by six sons; Russell (Marilyn) Toolate of New London, MO, Larry Toolate of Quincy, Marvin Toolate of San Francisco, CA, Gary (Connie) Toolate of Monticello, MO, Richard (Sharon) Toolate of Quincy and Tom Toolate of Quincy; two daughters; Sandra Toolate and Paul Looper of Norman, OK, Brenda Toolate and Brad Schlueter of Perry, MO. 38 grandchildren, 79 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren also survive.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Jesse Toolate, second husband, William Dodd; two sons, James Toolate and Roscoe Toolate; a daughter Carolyn Sue Toolate in infancy, two brothers, J.D. Knowles and Raymond Knowles; and five sisters; Almeda Woods, Margie Edwards, Ruth Black, Sylvia Spears, and Hazel Cehoz.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Stewart Cemetery, Plainville, IL. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family.

    I knew Delores. Grew up with her grandchildren. I am truly sorry for your guys lose. Words can’t describe how I felt when I seen this. Keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers
