Della ‘Maxine’ Bassett, age 80, of Quincy, died on Saturday, August 13, 2022 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on August 30, 1941 in Quincy, IL the daughter of Nathaniel and Genieve (Fletcher) Rogan. She married Wilbert Bassett and he preceded her in death.

Maxine worked at Blessing Hospital for 43 years and was recognized as never having missed a day of work.

She was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Quincy. Her church and her family were her life.

She is survived by:
A SON: Trinell Hickman (Leatricia) of Quincy
GRANDCHILDREN: Rachelle Thomas; Justin Thomas and Larvetta Bassett.
ONE GREAT-GRANDCHILD: KeShaun Thomas.
Nephew: Antoine Starks
Niece: Dana Ball
A host of other relatives including siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband, Maxine was also preceeded in death by her parents, and siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM in 1st Baptist Church. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 10:00 until the time of the services at 11:00. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
