Delbert Ray Barnard, age 76, of 6810 Dale Ave, Quincy, died on Tuesday April 15, 2014 in his home. He was born on July 5, 1937 in Hull, IL the son of Arthur & Dolly (Booker) Barnard. He married Lorene Adelaide Barnard on November 7, 1964 in Quincy. She preceded him in death on September 30, 2009. Mr. Barnard was a machinist at various companies in the area through the years.

He served in the United States Army.

Delbert enjoyed birdwatching and fishing.

He is survived by:
ONE DAUGHTER: Melissa Garcia of Justin, Texas.
FIVE GRANDCHILDREN: Kelly Sue Billingsley and her husband Bert; Elizabeth Gonzalez, Joseph Freeman, Anthony Garcia, and Christina Garcia.
TWO BROTHERS: Doris Barnard and Albert Barnard and his wife Laura.
Great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and numerous other relatives survive.

In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents, a son Delbert Ray Barnard II and two brothers: Donald Barnard and Alvin Barnard.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 1:00 PM in Quincy Memorial Park. There is no visitation but friends are invited to the graveside services. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangments.
