Delbert R. Lane
Delbert R. Lane, age 81, of Quincy, formerly of Vincennes, IN, died on Saturday, January 10, 2015 in his home. He was born on January 4, 1934 in Knox County, Indiana, the son of Adron and Thelma (Lowe) Lane. He married Henrietta Sue Briner on October 17, 1959 in Vincennes, IN. She survives. Mr. Lane served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was of the Christian Faith. Mr. Lane was a plant supervisor for Tuscarora Plastics from 1959 until his retirement in 1999 after 40 years of service.
Mr. Lane enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He also liked camping and fishing.

THREE CHILDREN: Cheryl Hollensteiner and her husband Mike of Quincy; Rondell “Ronnie” Lane and his wife Kim of Fowler, and Christopher Lane and his wife Kerry of Quincy
EIGHT GRANDCHILDREN: Tonya R. Blackorby and her husband Mike; Scott Hollensteiner; DW Messner and his wife Gretchen; Dustin Lane, Justin Lane, Christopher Lane, Jr., Kristofer Johnson and Dakota Johnson.
SIX GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Haily, Natalie, J’Leigha, Jazzlyn, Jaron and Pepper.
A SISTER: Judith Kellams
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Mr. Lane was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Leigh Messner, his parents, two brothers: Adron Lane, Jr. and Lewis Lane, and two sisters: Ioda Tillotson and Norma Twitty.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Quincy Memorial Park with military rites conducted at the cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorial may be made to the Blessing Cancer Center, the Unity Pointe Hospice or to the Great River Honor Flight Program.

You and all your family have my deepest sympathy. I can’t think of Delb without smiling and remembering what a great man he was. So sorry that I will not be able to be there with you but you are in my thoughts and prayers. Jim Nancy and Barb will not be able to make it. They also send their condolences. Love to all.
