Deanna L. Klauser

Deanna L. Klauser, age 68, passed away on August 4, 2024 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on January 17, 1956, in Quincy, IL, a daughter of Cecil and Velma (Green) Spurgeon. She married Cletus Klauser on June 20, 2020. He survives.

Deanna attended Canton High School. She went on to work as the secretary for the Quincy Public School’s vocational technology department until her retirement. In her younger years, Deanna enjoyed riding with her husband on their motorcycle. She loved flowers and cherished time spent with her family.

In addition to her husband, Deanna is survived by her CHILDREN: Amber McMillan of Chanhassen, MN and Heath (Mary) Otte of Hannibal, MO. STEPCHILDREN: Lindsey (Nadim) Rana of Chicago, IL; Reagan Nelson of St. Louis, MO; Derek (Noelani) Nelson of La Quinta, CA; Bridget (Lance) Ormond of Quincy, IL and Brooke Kurtz of Quincy, IL. GRANCHILDREN: Grace and Gwen; Lexie and Nathan; Blaine, Brice, Bailey, Kasey; Phoebe, Camdyn, and Carter; and Jordan, Jaydon, and Leland. SISTER: Kim (Keith) Scranton of Quincy, IL. NIECES and NEPHEWS: Matt, Brett, Keri, Erica and Kyle. Numerous friends and family members also survive.

Deanna was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and her previous husband James Kent Nelson, who passed away in 2013.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. The inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. The Duker and Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    My deepest condolences to family and friends. Deanna was a tremendous person with such a beautiful soul. She was such a blessing to have as a friend and always greeted everyone with that infectious smile!! She will be missed. She was already a blessed angel on earth and will be the same in heaven.     So sad to hear about Deanna’s passing.Thinking of the family at this difficult time. Her family are in our thoughts and prayers. Deanna was a fun loving person, we had a lot of laughs on our motorcycle trips.She will greatly be missed by all that knew her.
