David Musholt
David Joseph Musholt, 63, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Quincy, passed away suddenly Sept. 3, 2017 at his home.
David was born Apr. 4, 1954 in Quincy, the son of Ralph A. and Dorothy Amen Musholt. He attended St. Francis, St. John Schools and St. Joseph’s Seminary in Westmont, IL. He graduated from Quincy Senior High School in 1972 where he was active in music. He served in the Air Force where he was stationed in Japan and Andrews Air Force Base in Washington, D.C. After the Air Force he was employed at Harris Radio in Quincy and was later transferred to San Jose, CA where he worked in management for California Microwave, Cardiac Pathways, and Boston Scientific in quality control. While in California, David received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Phoenix and was valedictorian of the class. He moved to Tucson, AZ in 2003 to be with Letitia Bryant, formerly Tish Yount, of Quincy. In Tucson he worked for the county clerk’s office until his retirement in 2006.
David enjoyed playing soccer, camping, hiking and playing the drums in numerous bands over the years. His favorite hobby was his model trains, which both he and Tish shared, which gave him and others great joy. David and Tish loved to decorate their home for Halloween each year. David was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and collected Dallas Cowboys memorabilia.
Survivors include his significant other, Letitia Bryant; his mother, Dorothy Musholt of Quincy, one brother, Daniel (Kathy) Musholt of Riverside, RI, one sister, Donna (Joe) Supergan of Joliet, IL; an uncle Don (Kathryn) Musholt and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
David was preceded in death by his father, his uncle Ray Amen along with Ray’s wife Joyce and an aunt Virginia Miller.
Memorials can be made to American Cancer Society, Quincy Humane Society and Paralyzed Veterans of America.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 10:00 am in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 9:00 am until the time of the services. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Musholt, I was so sorry to hear about Dave’s passing. I have very fond memories of him when he was our neighbor. I will remember his bright smile and wonderful laugh.
Sending my condolences to Dave’s family. I’ve known Dave since 1995 when we met through mutual friends. From the first I was impressed with his sense of humor & a sort of handyman talent. He put up more holiday decorations, including roof top displays than any one I knew. Admired his ‘all in’ dedication to the Dallas Cowboys. Although it’s been several years since I last saw Dave, I know I call have called him & we’d have picked up right where we left off as that’s the sort of dedicated friend he was. Rest in peace my friend.
Dave and I were family for many years, and I have missed his open and welcoming nature, his ability to talk to anyone-anytime, his love of tinkering with things, and of course, his devotion to the Cowboys. I am so sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. We had 22 great years together with wonderful memories of all of you. He overcame so much in his life, I know this is so very hard for all of you, will keep you all in my prayers, and I know Dave is up there cheering on our Cowboys as we speak!

I am so saddened to hear of Dave’s passing. We spent many hours talking and laughing. I particularly enjoyed our ski retreats. I loved it when he and Tish and Harley James came for a visit at my place for a few days. The world is a poorer place without Dave.

Sorry for your loss Tish and family. It was so good to see you and Dave a few weeks ago and talk about old times in Q. I have very fond memories of Dave and QPS music and some fun trips back in our school days. Godspeed Dave on your new journey.
Have many fond memories with the Musholt family. I remember having a slumber party with Donna & friends at David’s house when he lived in Quincy. Love you all and sorry for your loss.
