David L. “Chicken Man” Comer

David L. “Chicken Man” Comer, age 69, of Quincy, died on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on November 5, 1948 in California, Missouri the son of Lloyd B. & Erma Jean (Butcher) Comer. He married Mary Ann Kroner on September 19, 1969 in Quincy. She survives.

In his ‘retirement’, Dave worked in radio with Oldies 106.7 and with Jeff ‘The Big Dog’ Dorsey. He also enjoyed working with marketing the Quincy Gems and his interaction with the team and the fans.

Dave proudly served in the United States Armed Forces during the Vietnam War.

The family would like to extend their thanks to all those at Blessing Hospital and Quincy Medical Group who went above and beyond in Dave’s care.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by:
TWO SONS: Chad David Comer (Dr. Greg Vlacich); and Ryan Matthew Comer (Dr. Jaime Comer)
TWO SISTERS: Phyllis Culbertson; and Mary Diana Comer
Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation rites have been accorded and no formal services are planned at this time.
Memorials may be made to the Quincy Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
