Darrell R. Lindsey

Darrell R. Lindsey, age 79, of Pittsfield, Il, died on Sunday, December 6, 2015 in his home. He was born on June 7, 1936 in Steffenville, MO, the son of Floyd and Flossie (Rainey) Lindsey. He married Barbara Misner on June 29, 1969 in LaBelle, MO. She survives. Mr. Lindsey was a cross country truck driver for many years. He was an Army Veteran. Darrell loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He was also an avid Cardinal Baseball fan.

In addition to his wife, Darrell is also survived by:
SIX CHILDREN: Steve (Kringle) Lindsey of Quincy; Mike (Karla) Messer of Clifton Hill, MO; Robert (Ronnell) Messer also of Clifton Hill, MO; Doug Lindsey of Quincy; Matthew (Shelly) Lindsey of Griggsville, IL; Floyd (Becky) Lindsey of Griggsville, IL.
A SISTER: Dorothy Brassfield
Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives also survive.

Darrell was preceded by his parents, a daughter: Peggy Donath, a son : Tim Lindsey; a grandson Derek Gebhart; and a step-son Ricky Messer.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with military rites at the conclusion of the services. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Family.

    Sorry for your loss. He was a great man. I will never forget my time spent taking care if him at liberty village and the stories he shared. He always had a twinkle in his eye and was usually up to something that was mischievous. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
