Daniel W. Postle
Daniel W. Postle, age 77, of 4819 Hanley Road, Quincy, died on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at 7:38 a.m. in Blessing Hospital. He was born on October 18, 1938 in Quincy, a son of Howard & Opal (Davis) Postle. He married Kathleen Klauser on October 17, 1963 in Salem, Arkansas. She survives
Daniel worked at Comstock Castle, retiring after twenty years of service. He previously had been an over-the-road truck driver. He was in the Army Reserves.
Daniel was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
He loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed woodworking. In earlier years he lifted weights and participated in bodybuilding. He also enjoyed watching football, hockey and old western movies.
In addition to his wife, Kathy, he is survived by:
FIVE CHILDREN, Greg Postle and his wife Julie, Timothy Postle and his significant other Kathy Merrill, Tina Pray and her husband John, Lori Postle and Brian Postle;
EIGHT GRANDCHILDREN, Carley Postle, Melissa (George) Stockdale, Bo Postle, Kreagen (Katie) Pray, Jessica (Kyle) Eager, Austin Pray, Joshua Postle and Brittany (Jacob) Smith;
NINE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN
TWO BROTHERS, his twin, David (Sandi) Postle and half-brother William “Bill” (“Bernie”) Postle;
THREE HALF-SISTERS, Susie (Tom Doak) Parker, Linda (Garry Hively) Little and Janice (Sandy) Browning.
He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother Helen Postle, his mother Opal (Earl) Hughes and a great-grandchild Gauge Eager.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 10:45 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 11:15 in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blessing Cancer Center or to St. Francis Parish Center.
