Daniel “Mike” McClean

Daniel “Mike” McClean age 67, of 337 Acorn Dr. Quincy, died on Thursday, September 30, 2010 in his home with his family by his side. Mike was born August 26, 1943 in Quincy, a son of Cecil “Sprout” and Evelyn (Schreacke) McClean. He married Nancy Henry on March 30, 1996 in Parkview Church and she survives.

Mike was a part of the Sprouts Restaurant family business and worked for 40 years helping to make Sprouts the success it is today. He was a 1962 graduate of Christian Brothers High School.
Mike was of the Catholic faith.

Mike was an Eagle Scout, receiving his badge in 1960, a member of Rocky Point Club and the Moose.

He was a Cardinal Baseball and NASCAR fan. Mike loved the time he spent with his grandkids, family cookouts and fishing.

In addition to his wife, Nancy, survivors include his children, Angelia (Jim) Eager of Ursa and Michelle Christine (Bill) Strausbaugh of Clayton; Grandchildren, Austin, Thomas, Kiana, Collin, McKenna, Laaken (Josh) Logsdon, Amanda (Steve) Beasley, Kyle, Conner and Madelyn; Great-Grandchildren, Krista, D.J., Lexi and Sadie Mae;

His Sister and Brothers: Joan Shaffer, Patrick (Tracy) McClean all of Quincy; Jeff (Mary) McClean of Simpsonville, KY and Rod (Robin) McClean of Quincy;
Many nieces and nephews survive, as well as his grand dogs, Zoey, Moses, Peaches and Roofie.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Michelle Ann McClean and a brother-in-law, Don Shaffer.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 4, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by the Rev. James Wheeler, O.F.M. Interment will be in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.

    Sandy and I wish to express our most sincere your loss of a loved one. We know it is difficult to accept these things that life has in store for all of us. Our Lord and Savior has his way and his will shall be done. We must accept his decision and keep the faith, for our future has many bright things in store.
