Daniel Joseph Felker
Daniel Joseph Felker age 69, of Quincy died on Friday, December 18, 2020 in Blessing Hospital. Dan was born in Quincy on June 5, 1951, a son of Raymond G. and Virginia A. (Roling) Felker. He married Ruth E. Taute on July 22, 1972 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, and she survives.
Dan worked for at Deters All Star Dairy in various capacities, until they closed. He then worked as a technician at AquaTech Marine in Quincy until his retirement.
Dan was of the Catholic faith, attending grade school at the former St. Rose School and he was a graduate of Christian Brothers High School.
An outdoorsman at heart, Dan enjoyed spending time with Ruth at their river camp, and fishing at their campsite near Mt. Sterling. He was a fan of St. Louis Cardinal baseball and Golden State Warriors basketball. He liked to watch boxing matches, Westerns and crime shows. All these activities were best enjoyed sitting back with a cold beer in hand with his faithful dog by his side.
In addition to his wife Ruth, survivors also include his siblings, Dave (Jeanie) Felker; Sarah (Bruce) Kamphaus all of Quincy; brothers-in-law, Fred (Diane) Taute of Rhode Island; Chris (Cathy) Taute of Iowa; and a sister, Linda Grimsley of Quincy.
Dan’s nieces and nephews were very special to him, he loved them all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his father and mother-in-law, Fritz and Virginia Taute.
Private family services were held due to Covid-19. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Quincy Humane Society, 1701 North 36th Street Quincy, IL 62301 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Ruth… so sorry to hear of the passing of Dan. Even though I graduated a couple of years ahead of him I still remember him. Cherish all the good times and memories you’ve had together. May he rest in the Peace of the Lord…
Dear Ruth, Many years had past since you were at St. Rose and how I remember Dave and all his family, loved his mother too.
