Daniel ‘Danny’ Maas
Daniel ‘Danny’ Maas, age 67, of Canton, IL, formerly of Camp Point, IL died on Thursday, November 10, 2022 in Canton, IL. He was born on January 17, 1955 in Quincy, the son of Maurice and Hilda (Uppinghouse) Maas. When Danny was younger, he helped out on the family farm. Danny was of the Catholic Faith.
Danny’s younger years was spent living on the family farm south of Camp Point. There he was raised with his two older brothers and his sister. His days were spent helping his dad, brothers and sister milk cows, take care of cattle and pigs and farm. Later, after his dad passing, he continued to help his brothers farm but also enjoyed mowing his yard watching and listen to country music and seeing his nieces and nephews who he always had hugs for.
In the last few years of his life he was in an assisted living home where he continued the Maas love of talking and visiting with the residents and staff. He also loved to listen to his country music and take walks around the facility. While there he started volunteering, helping resident with disability whether it was giving them a glass of water or just being there for them. Danny will be greatly missed by all his family.

SISTER-IN-LAW: Kay Maas
NIECES AND NEPHEWS: Ginger Bocke (John), Kelly Maas, Gail Maas, Ann Paben (Greg), Ryan Maas, Lori Henley (James), Corey Schwagmeyer, Kim Niekamp (Luke), Ali Schwagmeyer-Belger (Courtney).
Numerous great-nieces, and great nephews and other relatives also survive.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Johnny Maas and Ronnie Maas along with his wife Pam and a niece Angie Schwagmeyer.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in St. Brigid Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for the Blessing Cancer Center. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
