Curtis L. Johnson, age 63, of 527 Broadway, Quincy, died on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on September 8, 1951 in Quincy, a son of Leonard & Dorothy (Brown) Johnson.

Curtis served in the U.S. Army. He retired after working for 28 years with Cilco Power in Canton, IL.

He enjoyed spending time with his family. Curtis loved his music and he also enjoyed board games.

He is survived by:

ONE DAUGHTER, Shannon Johnson of Peoria, IL;
FIVE BROTHERS, Craig Johnson and his wife Heather of Quincy, Edward Johnson & his wife Alicia of FL, Gary Johnson of Quincy, John Johnson & his wife Luella of Quincy and Claude Johnson & his wife Becky of Keokuk;
SIX SISTERS, Cherl Green of Quincy, Valerie Crider & her husband Stefan of Quincy, Sandra Johnson of FL, Carmen Harris of MN, Carla Johnson of Urbana, IL and Melva Johnson of Quincy;
ONE GRANDCHILD, Anthony Rush, Jr.
A host of nieces & nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his father, one brother Robert Green and a sister Edna Phillips.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. in the Sunset Cemetery at the Illinois Veteran’s Home with military honors. Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
