Cristy Collene Puff, age 33, of Gillespie, IL, died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 15, 2014 in her home and now will be fully protected and safe in the arms of our victorious Lord. She was born on September 29, 1980 in Quincy, IL. Cristy is the daughter of Edmund Puff and Kringle (Brown) Lindsey.

Cristy graduated from Barry High School, Barry, IL in 1999. Throughout high school, Cristy was an active participant in softball, volleyball, and the FFA. Cristy attended John Wood Community College. Cristy was active with many community activities especially the Barry Apple Festivals.

Cristy liked gardening, music, camping, and interior design. Cristy enjoyed sports, her favorite activity was playing football with neighbors and friends who lovingly referred to her as “Te-Te”. Cristy was an avid animal lover especially her pets: Macy, Baby, Phoenix and Sissy. Cristy attended the First Baptist Church of Gillespie, Il and found comfort sharing her life and God’s word with Pastor Jarod DePoppe. Cristy deeply appreciated and cherished her family. Cristy’s smile and laughter was contagious and she loved those moments laughing with family and friends.

Grandparents: June “Gee Gee” Bigger, Quincy, IL & Darrell and Barb Lindsey, Pittsfield, Il.
Best Friend: Angie Waugh, Gillespie, IL.
Cristy is also survived by other family members including: her father, aunts and uncles: Fran Cookson (Tom), Criss Brown (Terri), Mike Bigger (Debbie), Tim Lindsey (Carol) Doug Lindsey, Matt Lindsey (Shelly), Floyd Lindsey, Joy Lindsey, Melissa Lindsey,
Cousins: Dustin Bigger, Katlin Bigger, Ryan Miller (Amanda), Dusty Cookson (Monica), Luke Cookson, Quintin Cookson, Austin Cookson, Dawson Cookson, Chloe Cookson, Clara Cookson, Conleigh Cookson, Reece Cookson, Scott Brown,
Nephew: Tristan Miller and Niece: Shelby Bowen and many other loving family members and exceptional friends.

She was preceded in death by grandparents: Rubin Bigger and Warren Brown, an aunt Paulette Rumble and a cousin Rod Miller.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 6:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 4:00 until the time of the services at 6:00 at the funeral home. Graveside services will be conducted at a later date. Memorials may be made to a fund in her memory in care of Thomas & Frances Cookson Children’s Education.
