Cornelia L. Wiemelt

Cornelia L. Wiemelt age 101 of 2130 Harrison Street Quincy died on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 6:10 p.m. in the home. She was born February 27, 1913 in Adams County a daughter of Andrew and Mary (Jansen) Tappe. She married Louis J. Wiemelt on January 30, 1935 in St. Francis Catholic Church, he preceded her in death.

Cornelia had worked as a nursing assistant at St. Vincent Home and at Sunset Home. She was a member of the former St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and currently a member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church.

Cornelia enjoyed gardening for many years, she liked to go fishing and playing BINGO.

Survivors include her daughter, Ruth Ann Cason and her husband Bill of Ewing, MO; a sister, Wilma Brink of Quincy; a son-in-law Ray Taylor of Camp Point, IL; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sons, Louis, Kenneth and Robert Wiemelt; two daughters, Nadine Taylor and Mary Lou Bradbury, three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.at the funeral Home.
