I just found out about Connie through your website and wanted to give my condolences to Jay and her family. I worked with her at CIPS from 1977 until 1990 when my husband Tom and I left Quincy. Connie was a joy to be around and was always happy and smiling. I won’t forget how she helped “the New Kid” and was always a source of knowledge around the office and fun outside of it. She will be missed.

Tom and I met Connie back in 2005, when we started to camp at Whispering Oaks while Tom was working in Quincy, for a company out of Keokuk. He began to go into the Firehouse Tap after work, and he met Connie, for there weren’t any other Blue Ribbon Beer drinkers in there at the time. From that day on they struck up a friendship. They would forever tease each other about the other one drinking all of their beer. An how one of them would have to leave before it was all gone.
During the winter months Tom would stay at the Elkton Inn, an at least once a week Connie would bring him a plate of some kind of food, so he wouldn’t go hungry. An he said it was always good, although he never had any saved to share with me.
We last saw Connie at the Firehouse on Halloween night. I wish I had taken a photo of her, she was having fun taking pictures of everyone who came in costume. I had always wanted to get a photo of her with Tom holding up their beer cans, but that will forever be a memory for us now.
We will miss her whenever we goto the Firehouse, an she will forever remain in our memories an hearts.
Blessings to you all. Remember all the laughter an joy she forever brought to your lives, we will.
    Thank you
