Clair Adair ‘Skip’ Selby, Jr.
Clair Adair ‘Skip’ Selby, Jr., age 76, of Quincy, died on Friday, August 30, 2024 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on January 31, 1948 in Quincy, IL the son of Clair & Elizabeth (Hoff) Selby. He married Barbara Dolbeare on March 11, 1994. She survives.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era.
Skip worked at Harris Corp until his retirement in 2009.
During his free time he liked to play pool, flying radio controlled airplanes and spending time with his family. He also loved his music.

Niemiec, Jr. (Courtney Lawson); Scott Niemiec and Hunter Niemiec; Zachary Selby, Shady Calef (Steven) Tristin Selby (Alex); Ben Lange; Amber Carter; Paula Reaves (Eric); Melissa Ellison (Mike Kuch); Robbie Ellison, Jr. (Morgan Frantz); Bobby Spencer; Deana Barnard (Kin); Elizabeth Weitnauer (Caleb); Chance McConnell (Amber Marshall); Ryan McConnell; Tamara McConnell and Adair Selby.
BROTHER: Larry Long.
Numerous great-grandchildren, a great-great grandchild, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives also survive.
Skip was preceded in death by his parents, a son Chad Selby, son in law: David McConnell and a sister-in-law: Sherri Long.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Entombment in Quincy Memorial Park Mausoleum with military rites conducted at the cemetery by the American Legion Post #37 Honor Detail and the United States Air Force Honor Detail. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the time of the services at 1:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
