Dear Mirta, Chris, Neil and Peter,

Chris was a great guy and wonderful friend of more than 20 years. Always honest, compassionate and funny – loyal beyond words. He loved his boys more than anything in the world. I’m so sorry for your loss. I am so sad to lose my friend. My deepest sympathies to you and your family.

    May he rest in peace.

    Love to you,
    Leann

In Memory of your Father, Chris
    By Leann Schmidt

Every day the sun comes up from over the horizon
As if to prove a point.
At first I found this utterly amazing
    That it even could.
Every night the moon sweeps across the sky
    Waxing and waning
To show the passing of time.
    How could this be?

Even after Moses, the world kept on.
    After they crucified Jesus
    The world kept on.
    But I always thought –
I always thought the world would stop
    A complete stop
    Without you in it.
Yet now I realize through the Grace of God
That it could only go on
Because you were here at all.

Chris was the great patriot. He served us veterans from a position of experience, knowledge, love, and care. He easily gained all of our trust and there will NEVER be a replacement. We loved him like a brother warrior that very few will ever understand. God rest his soul.
