Cheryl C. Niffen
Cheryl C. Niffen, age 76, formerly of Nauvoo and Hull, died Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 12:51 a.m. in Blessing Hospital, Quincy.
She was born June 19, 1946 in Hannibal, MO, the daughter of Marvin and Betty Lewton Gudgel.
She is survived by one son, Joseph L. Niffen of Quincy and daughter-in-law, Julie Niffen Burwinkel (Ray Burwinkel, Jr.); five grandchildren: Dawn (Jacob) Gamble of Quincy, Allison Niffen (David Marthaler) of Tennessee, Dana (Cody) Boots of Camp Point, Levi Niffen of Florida and Jacob Roberts of Illinois; and four great-grandchildren: Gabby and Grayden Gamble and Caylin and Daisy Boots.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Robert “Robbie” Niffen, Jr; one sister, Janice Jackson and a long time companion, Woody Kurtz.
Ms. Niffen was a graduate of West Pike High School. She was a dog lover who fostered and adopted rescue dogs. Her most recent dog was her beloved chihuahua, Gabby. Cheryl also enjoyed a good cup of coffee, collecting antiques and watching television, especially soap operas. She enjoyed visiting with lifelong friends and never met a stranger. Most of all, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy.
Memorial services are pending. Memorials may be made to Akers Chapel Cemetery. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.dukerandhaugh.com. Duker and Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Prayers for Cheryl’s family. She was one of my best friends in school. She and donna & I spent a lot of time together. Will see you again in heaven.
We did not know Cheryl but her granddaughter and family are so Special to us! Prayers go out to the family.
My life time friend of 55 years I will miss you dearly and I loved you so much no one to drink coffee with now no 2 hours phone conversation as we lived 300 miles apart but you Rest In Peace with Jesus I will see you again on the other side to all kids grandkids great grandkids my prayers wii be with you till I see y’all in the spring my heart is heavy for the lose of my friend
