Cheryl Ann Whitaker, age 81, of Quincy, died on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 in her home. She was born on October 14, 1939 in Hannibal, MO the daughter of Charles and Veronica Nichols
Markell. She married Richard E. Whitaker, Sr., on May 29, 1964 in Quincy St. Rose Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on February 5, 1993. Cheryl was an RN in the Quincy area for 42 years working at the former St. Mary Hospital and then Blessing Hospital. She was of the Catholic Faith.

Cheryl enjoyed gardening and canning. She liked NASCAR. She also enjoyed fishing, and puzzle books. She also loved her animals and had many over the years.

Cheryl is survived by:
ONE SON: Richard E. Whitaker, Jr. (Tammy) of Quincy.
THREE GRANDCHILDREN: Nicole Whitaker of Quincy; Lynsey Whitaker of Quincy and Richard E. Whitaker III (Katelyn Bates) also of Canton, MO.
ONE GREAT-GRANDDAUGHTER: Reign Sue Whitaker.

In addition to her husband, Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at noon at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Blessing Foundation for Hospice, the Quincy Humane Society or to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
