Charles W. “Bill” Feld

Charles W. “Bill” Feld, age 83, of 1624 Granview, Quincy, died on Monday, September 29, 2014 in his home. He was born on October 30, 1930 in Quincy, a son of John D. & Frances (Hurley) Feld. He married Phyllis Davis on April 14, 1962 in Union United Methodist Church. She survives.

Bill was a 1948 graduate of Quincy High School. He served in the U.S. Army in Panama during the Korean War. He was a firefighter with the City of Quincy, working out of Station #6. He retired in 1986 after serving 30 years.

He was a lifetime member of North Side Boat Club and a founding member of the Volunteer Emergency Corp. He loved duck hunting, fishing and all outdoor activities including flower gardening. Bill was a lifetime Cardinal fan.

ONE SON, Bill Feld, Jr. and his partner Jeff, of Austin, TX;
TWO DAUGHTERS, Laura Sandidge and her husband Alan of St. Louis, Dawn Hinds and her husband Karl of Fowler, IL
FOUR GRANDCHILDREN, Melanie (David) DelCastillo of Quincy, Will (April) Shaffer of Camp Point, IL and Noah & Emma Sandidge of St. Louis;
SIX GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, Christian & Marco DelCastillo of Quincy, and Ashton, Abigail, Alainabelle & Amberlyn Shaffer of Camp Point, IL;
ONE SISTER-IN-LAW, Karen Kalberer of Quincy; and
A BROTHER-IN-LAW, Richard Davis of Quincy.
Several nieces and nephews and a special little friend, Sara, also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Marilou, a brother Jim Feld and one sister-in-law, Sallie Feld.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Boys Town or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
