Charles G. “Chuck” Rischar

Charles G. “Chuck” Rischar, age 78, of the Illinois Veteran’s Home, Quincy, died on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on June 25, 1935 in Quincy, a son of Adolph & Agnes (Frese) Rischar. He married Donna Bush on October 30, 1970 in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. She survives.

Chuck graduated from Peoria Spalding High School in 1953 followed by DeVry Institute of Chicago. He worked as an electrician for 28 years with IBEW Local 34 retiring in 1997. He served on the IBEW Local 34 executive board for 20 years.

Mr. Rischar served in the U.S. Navy from 1953 – 1957 sailing to many parts of the world.

His love was hunting, fishing and the family farm.

In addition to his wife, Donna, he is survived by two children, Alan Rischar & his wife Elizabeth as of 7/6/2013 and Dennis Rischar and his wife Darla; two grandchildren, Autumn & Hunter Rischar; and one sister, Delores (Robert) Ley, all of Quincy along with a sister-in-law, Diane Bush of Springfield, IL. Numerous nieces & nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brother, Richard & Leroy Rischar.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery with military honors by the Payson VFW. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Great River Honor Flight.

    Will miss you Uncle Chuck— but we have lots of good memories to hold onto. You are a great guy. Tell Mom & Dad we say HI and love them.
