Chanta Rideout Morris, age 49, of 1224 South 8th, Quincy died on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 in the Emergency Room of Blessing Hospital. She was born on March 23, 1963 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Thurman Rideout and Barbara Lee. She married Henry Lee Morris on October 21, 2005 in Quincy, IL. He survives.

Mrs. Rideout Morris worked in the nursing and childcare fields. Chanta was a Christian who believed in the Lord. She greatly enjoyed tennis, puzzles, basketball and all sports. She also loved writing & reading. Chanta also greatly loved her dog “Mr Wonderful” and her former dog “Queenie” who passed away.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by:
THREE CHILDREN: Jerome Phillips of Chicago, Shamekia Rideout and Shanitta Rideout-Kelley both of Quincy.
SIX STEP-CHILDREN: Tony, Mark, Anthony, Redd, Pat, Lela & Pappy
ELEVEN GRANDCHILDREN: Zachary, Davion, Marquan, Lawrence
“Knucklehead”, Denise and “Special K” Rideout; Kenitha, Myshyia, and Kiunta Rideout-Kelley, Leonia and Jeremy Rideout.
STEP-GRANDCHILDREN: Jamari, Ta’quon, Ja’quon, Tobias, Desire, Buttons, Jo-Jo, Ta-Ta, Michelle, Henry, Devon, Oceanea, Jadrian, Tricia, Capri, Man-Man, Nikki & Little John
BROTHERS: Jimmy Lee, James (Imani) Lee and Michael Lee
SISTERS: Marva “Meko” Lee, Barbara Lee, Angela Lee and Ebony Lee
A Host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive along with a best friend, Leon Peck.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 grandchild Shanytha Rideout-Kelley and a SISTER: Evangelist Elois Lee.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. in the Cathedral of Worship. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday beginning at 12:00 until the time of services at 1:00 P.m. at the Cathedral of Worship. Memorials may be made to the Family.
