Catherine E. Oitker

Catherine E. Oitker, age 85, of the Sunset Home, formerly of 815 South 9th, died on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 11:10 AM in Blessing Hospital. She was born on August 19, 1928 in Spooner, WI the daughter of Clifford and Thelma (Herren) Lenz. She married Donald G. Oitker on July 10, 1954 in St. Boniface Catholic Church. He preceded her in death in 1998. Catherine was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, the St. Elizabeth Society, the Legion of Mary, and the Secular Franciscans. Catherine was a member of the Traveling Trompers, Camper Stampers, and the Red Hat Society. She was also active in the Cursillo movement. Catherine volunteered at Blessing Hospital and the Sunset Home for many years.

She is survived by:
THREE SONS: Donald Joseph Oitker of Quincy; Timothy Oitker and his wife Deana also of Quincy and Kevin Oitker and his partner Paul Bales of St. Louis, MO.
ONE GRANDCHILD: Katherine Marie Oitker
TWO STEP-CHILDREN: Christopher Walker of Omaha, NE and Zachary Walker of Sasebo, Japan

In addition to her parents, Catherine was also preceded in death by a daughter Mary Frances.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 9:30 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:00 in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home from 4:00 until 7:00 with a Secular Franciscan service at 5:30. Memorials may be made to Quincy Notre Dame or Blessed Sacrament Church.
