Catherine Ann Moran-Fleming

Catherine Ann Moran-Fleming, a devoted educator, passionate community servant, and loving matriarch, passed away on September 4, 2024, at the age of 75, in Felton, Delaware.
Born on December 30, 1948, to Marjorie Wilson Klein and William Anthony Wilson, Cathie dedicated her life to nurturing young minds and uplifting her community.
She earned double master’s degrees in education.

She spent her illustrious career as an elementary school teacher in Quincy, IL, Medford, NJ, and Florence, NJ, before becoming a middle school principal in both Florence, NJ, and Hanover Township, NJ.
Cathie’s compassion extended far beyond the classroom. She volunteered with Hospice and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) in Quincy, IL, and continued her community service in Delaware with Caring Hearts and Helping Hands. Her unwavering commitment to supporting needy families through Christmas shopping programs brought joy to countless lives.
A talented quilter, Cathie found solace in crafting warmth and love into every stitch. Her favorite activity was traveling the world, and she was blessed to have visited 40 different countries, both broadening her perspective and fostering a deeper appreciation for diverse cultures.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Fleming; and son, Timothy Moran; and cherished granddaughter, Isla Rose Moran; daughter-in-law, Katherine Lowell, and her husband, James Lowell.
Cathie’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and dedication to education will forever inspire those whose lives she touched.

A Memorial Service is planned for Monday, October 14th, 2024, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home in Quincy IL.
In lieu of flowers: Donations may be made in Cathie’s honor to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC), supporting research and awareness for ovarian cancer
