Carolyn Sue Ridder
Carolyn Sue Ridder, age 73, of Sunset Home, formerly of 608 S. 15th Street, Quincy, died on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 9:55 a.m. in the Home. She was born on December 24, 1936 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, a daughter of Roy E. and Lillian Agnes (Tuck) Groharing. She married Billy E. Daniels in 1955 who preceded her in death . She later married Charles E. Ridder on April 21, 1972. He preceded her in death on September 5, 2006.
Sue was a 1954 graduate of Harbor High School in Newport Beach, California. She worked at Davis Cleaver until her retirement. Before that she also worked at the Casino and at the Place .
Sue enjoyed fishing, bowling, and pitching horseshoes. She also liked to sew and go to the river front to feed the ducks and geese. She loved to spend time with her family and attending her children’s and grandchildren’s ball games. Sue was a dedicated Cubs fan. She loved collecting ball cards and doing puzzle books. She always enjoyed a trip to the “boat” with family and friends,
Survivors include:
FIVE CHILDREN: David Daniels and his wife Tina, Tracy Daniels, Russell Daniels, Pamela Lancaster and her husband Jack, and Paula England and her husband Randy;
FOUR STEP-CHILDREN: Patrick Ridder and his wife Lynn, William Ridder, Michael Ridder and his wife Tammi, and Kathleen Ridder;
THIRTY-FIVE GRANDCHILDREN;
SEVENTEEN GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN;
TWO SISTERS: Mary Louise Jean, and Alice Stefferud;
TWO STEP-SISTERS: Dorothy Cast, and Ramona Wright.
Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends also survive.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one step-son, Tony Ridder, and a grandson, Clinton Daniels.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. Chad Garringer. Interment will be in Sunset Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
Sorry for your loss. We remember many conversations with her, they were always entertaining. She was always friendly and showed much love for everyone she knew. We loved having her having as an extension to our family. She was a wonderfull person and she will be missed greatly.
