Caroline Ternowski, age 102, of the Barry Community Care Center in Barry, Illinois, formerly of Quincy, died on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 in Blessing Hospital. Caroline was born on October 19, 1918 in Detroit, Michigan to Domanico and Pasqua (Pollaccia) Russo.

Caroline attended Denby High School in Detroit, Michigan and was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed dancing, working in her garden and cooking. Most of all, she was a devoted homemaker who cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Dolores Hickey of Fowler; two grandchildren, Laura Hickey-Phillips (Stephen) and Robert Hickey Jr. (Ellen); six great grandchildren, Davide, Ashley, Andrew, Christian, Lucas and Aaliyah; one brother, Frank Russo and one sister, Fannie Russo Blanda.

Caroline was preceded in death by her parents, her son-in-law, Robert Hickey Sr., her great granddaughter Faith and nine siblings.

Cremation has been accorded to Caroline. No formal services are planned for her at this time. The Duker and Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
