Carol Rae (Brink) Laeding
Carol Rae (Brink) Laeding, 86, passed peacefully April 28, 2024. Her family had the privilege of spending the final days with her, appreciating her humor and wit to the last.
Carol was born January 5, 1938, to Raymond B. Brink, Sr. and Sylvia Marquerite (Leckbee) Brink.
A born creative, Carol spent her life making things beautiful through sewing, crafting, cooking, baking, floral arranging, and furniture restoration. She loved games of all kinds but especially enjoyed a good card game. She shared her skills and knowledge with many throughout her lifetime but in her final years she had an especially close relationship with her youngest sister, Maudine, and nieces, Stephanie, Shalia, and Shenae. Her crafting crossed the country in collaboration with her eldest daughter Cindy, bringing their joint creations into homes throughout the Western and Midwestern states.
An avid football fan, Carol played in a fantasy football league with daughter Carla and granddaughter Bryar.
Carol held a special role in the lives of many of her grandchildren. She loved her time as a caregiver to Bryar and Cale and made her home the favorite summertime destination for Chanda and Callie.
Carol was welcomed home by her parents, sister Joan, and brother Raymond.
She continues watching over her children Cindy (Craig) Ekker, Steve Edwards, Greg (Bobbie) Edwards, Carla Edwards, Tia (Kirk) Wiley; siblings Maudine Rice and Roger Brink; grandchildren Chanda Waddell, Callie Wilde, Jeramie Edwards, Karianne Edwards, Bryar Wiley, Cale Wiley, and many beloved great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Of the many beautiful things Carol created, she treasured her family above all, and this loss reverberates across many lives.
While we mourn our loss, we celebrate the beautiful life she created. To honor Carol’s wishes, there would be no formal services.
Memorials contributions are suggested to a charity of Donor’s Choice.
