Carol S. Mason, age 64, of 6625 St. Ludgerus Rd, Quincy, died on Sunday, March 20, 2016 in her home. She was born on December 19, 1951 in Quincy, a daughter of Thomas & Doris (Beaston) Fulmer. She married John Mason on February 21, 1968 in Quincy. He survives.
Carol was a graduate of Quincy High School. She worked as a Room Aid at the Early Childhood Center for many years.
Along with her daughter, she volunteered as a candy striper, serving more than 4,000 hours. She had previously volunteered at the former St. Mary’s Hospital.
She enjoyed traveling and any activities with her family. She hosted many family get-togethers throughout the years on all holidays and birthdays. Her family was the most important thing in the world to her, and she loved them unconditionally. Carol was a loving, sweet, amazing, generous and very witty woman. She would keep you laughing all of the time. Besides her family, she held a special place in her heart for all animals, especially her dog Pooh Bear and her cat Miracle. You could always count on her for anything!

TEN GRANDCHILDREN, Madeline Mason, John Mason III, Michael Bradley, Amanda Mason, Carol Mason, Susanna Vaupel, Brianna Moore, Danielle Hickerson, Cynthia Hickerson and Joshua Hickerson;
SIX GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN
THREE SISTERS, Mary Grant Quincy and her husband Lloyd of Liberty, Joyce Ann Toolate, and Betty (George) Dade, both of Quincy;
BROTHER-IN-LAW, Charles (Betty) Mason of Quincy
SISTERS-IN-LAW, Lucy Mason of Independence, MO, Barbara (Gary) Riley of Quincy, Mary Dasch of Quincy and Margie (Wendel) Swain of Independence, MO.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandchild Cheyenne Elizabeth Hickerson, a son-in-law Danny Hickerson, a sister Frances Fulmer, three brothers Charles, Thomas and Donald Fulmer, and three brothers-in-law Edward and Michael Mason and Roscoe Toolate.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Unity Point Hospice Programs or to Sunset Home.
