OBITUARY ON CAROL SUE KEIM

Carol Sue Keim, age 71, of 2204 College Ave, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 1:00 AM. She died peacefully at the North Adams Home. Carol suffered and fought a long, courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. She became a born again Christian in 1979 and remained a devout servant to her Lord until the end. She is rejoicing in Heaven today.

Carol was born on June 20, 1940 in Quincy, Illinois the daughter of Richard & Pansy (Hays) Emerick. She married Kent Keim on June 28, 1958 in Quincy, Illinois. He survives. Carol was employed in women’s retail clothing during the 1970’s and 1980’s. She then retired to babysit her grandchildren. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her three daughters and her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by:
THREE DAUGHTERS: Kim Smith and her husband Garry of Harrisburg, NC; Lisa Niederhauser and her husband Brent of Quincy and Julie Hannant and her husbnad Kevin of Stevenson Ranch, CA.
EIGHT GRANDCHILDREN: Corry Smith and his wife Tiffiny, Abbey and Emily Smith, Andrew Niederhauser, Jackson Niederhauser, Alexandra, Arielle and Alivia Hannant.
THREE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Dylan Doggette, Preston Roper and Natalie Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Betty Kealen and a brother Carl in infancy.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM in Greenmount Cemetery by the Rev. David Sorenson. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice or to the North Adams Nursing Home.
