Carol Drieselman
Carol R. Drieselman age 80, of Bickford Cottage, Quincy died on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at home.
She was born March 5, 1928 in Springfield, IL a daughter of Dennis H. and Louisa K. (Parrish) Rose.
She married Donald R. Drieselman on June 14, 1947 in Palmyra, MO at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He preceded her in death on March 26, 2002. Carol worked for the Michigan Public School System from September 1976 until her retirement in June of 1989. Prior to moving to Detroit, she had worked at State Street Store and the former QP&S Clinic.
Carol was a graduate of Quincy High School.
She was a member of the Church of St. Peter.
She thoroughly enjoyed time spent with family and friends and activities with the Bickford residents and staff. Carol was an avid Cardinal fan; she also enjoyed playing bridge and listening to country music. Carol was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Survivors include her sons, Thomas K. Drieselman and his wife Cindy of Quincy;
Daniel M. Drieselman and his wife Judy of Livonia, MI;
her daughter, Donna S. Drieselman of Quincy;
four grandchildren, Danielle Costello and her husband John of Chicago, IL;
Andrea Hays and her husband Shannon of South Elgin, IL; Brian Drieselman and his wife Erin
of Grosse Pointe, MI and Eric Drieselman of Livonia, MI;
and a great-granddaughter, Olivia Hays of South Elgin, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Earle Hicks.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 10, 2008
at 9:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and 10:00 a.m. in the
Church of St. Peter by the Rev. Daniel Bergbower.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery . Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
There will be a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
Memorials are suggested to Transitions Foundation for the Developmental Training Program.; Blessing Foundation for HOSPICE or the Church of St. Peter.
We are sorry to learn of Carol’s passing.. She was a neat lady. Always cheerful. We appreciated her and her friendship when we lived in Quincy. Our sincere sympathy to all of you. Wilma and Bruce Cossiboom
