Carol D. Davis, age 88, of Canton, Missouri, died on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 7:50 p.m. in St. Vincent Home in Quincy. She was born on May 14, 1921 in Quincy, Illinois, a daughter of William and Carrie (Dixon) Augspurg. She married Richard Davis on October 13, 1990. He preceded her in death in February of 2008.

Carol was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Quincy.

She was a great cook. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.

Survivors include:
THREE DAUGHTERS: Buddy Jones and her husband John of Canton, MO, Peggy Newman and her husband Richard of Quincy, and Janice Hoener of Quincy;
EIGHT GRANDCHILDREN: Kimberly McKenzie and her husband David, Danna Fagot, Michael Jones, Dawn Cook and her husband Troy, Amy Sylvester and her husband Peter, Richard Newman, Jr., Kelly Bennett and her husband Randy, Lori Briscoe and John Maynard;
NINETEEN GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN:
THREE GREAT-GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN.
Nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Frank Augspurg, and two sisters, Albertha Doane and Elvina Mohrman.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 31, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Reverend Stephen Mueller. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Vincent Home.
